Haha, I'm sorry you're so late, fandoms always feel so deserted to me after a story has concluded. I got into it 10 years ago just as it was coming to a conclusion in Japan, so this brings back a lot of fond memories. I consider this one and Bleach as kind of my gateway drug to the whole shounen jump manga I read back then xD
(Until last week I even had Light as icon on my private twitter account xD It was kind of an injoke, because of the "All according to keikaku (translator's note: keikaku means plan)" meme xD)
Yeah, Misa may have been a little annoying at first, though I totally dug her style xD The artist is so good. I also read the series he worked on after Death Note - Bakuman. Idk if you know it but it's a whole other story, about two high school kids who team up to become mangaka. It's really cute and gives you a bit of perspective of what it means to write for Shounen Jump.
