He stands next to the refrigerator and cries bitter tears. His family is gone … Lori and Carl, just gone. He is confused, doesn’t know what happened, how the world came to an end. He is unable to cope with the new situation, just being awake for several hours.
And now he’s standing here, sliding down the door of the refrigerator, staring at a little yellow post-it note.
“Sorry we fought this morning. I love you.”
The words blur as new tears fill his eyes. He will never have the chance to apologize. He will never have the chance to say that he loves her, too. He will never have another chance to hug his boy.
He lost them both.
